St Michael’s Veterans Center, Kansas City, Missouri, Phase I
New Construction of Multi-Family Housing
(Permanent Housing for Homeless and Disabled Veterans) 55,158 sq. ft., $7.6M, 58 Units Completed 2014 Multi-family Category - Capstone Award Winner- 2015 KC-EDC - Cornerstone Award for Community Development, 2015 Developed through a partnership between Catholic Charities of Kansas City – St. Joseph and Yarco Co. and designed by Rosemann & Associates P.C., the 58-unit apartment complex offers permanent housing options for at-risk veterans. The complex is complete with a vast amount of amenities including; social services, a computer lab, library, an exercise room, laundry facilities on each floor, community and meeting space and support service offices. A unique challenge faced by the construction team was due to the financing date being pushed back several times while contractual deadlines stood firm. 4Sight was faced with an accelerated schedule that caused an uncomfortable need to push the project harder than originally scheduled. Through focused cooperation from subcontractors and suppliers, 4Sight accelerated the project to completion on time and on budget. This project has received numerous regional accolades.
